It maybe weird to some people why I ,a Muslim would choose this topic. But maybe the up bringing of my family I guess. And to be honest, I am glad with it.
It has always been a teaching and culture within the South-East Asian Muslims (especially among the Malays) that dogs are haram (forbidden) and this culture has mistakenly been recognized as part of the teachings in the religion of Islam.

As a result of that, many Muslims shy away from dogs, or fear them, or even to an extent, hate and despise them. This reflects badly on the Muslims in the eyes of the non-Muslims as they would label us as "dog haters" and other ugly labels.

It is interesting to know that dogs are mentioned in the Quran many times, not just once, in verses 5:4, 7:176, 18:18 and 18:22 (3 times). NOWHERE does God call the dogs dirty animals or give any indication that they should be avoided or treated the way many Muslims think they should. Actually, the story of the people of the cave in Sura 18 gives the indication that we should appreciate them. When the number of the people of the cave, 3, 5 or 7 were mentioned in the Quran, God insisted every time on letting us know that their dog was there with them. Their story can be as complete without the mention of the dog, but God did, why?

I know that it difficult to deal with dogs but seriously it isn't right to just hate and avoid them.Let me be frank and ask. What if someone avoids you just because your difficult?Would it be right?Would it be fair. You don't have to be afraid when they walk in front you .It certainly isn't crazy enough to just suddenly attack you if you didn't did any harm.Any living thing would hurt you if you hurt them..

Dogs could be the most loyal and obedient animal. They could the best friends of man.

They are absolutely so adorable.

Lets just not narrow our minds about dogs.Think positively about them. You don't have to keep them just don't treat them like they are some kinda of thing you should avoid. No harm in loving a dog, surely not a sin.

Hope you enjoy this article...Till next time..Chao
